Mahama Set to Break Ghana’s Political Record When Voted into Power in the next general election

“And the majority of Ghanaians who are finding it difficult to put food on the table for your children, the majority of Ghanaians who are finding it difficult to travel because you cannot afford the transport fares, the drivers of this country who can’t buy fuel, the teachers who do not have learning aids in school, the nurses who have finished school and are sitting at home, I know that the majority of these people will make a good choice”

Flag bearer of the largest opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama is set to break a record when voted as president in the December 7 polls.

According to him, he is the only person who had the opportunity to become a president and got out of office and be given another opportunity to come back again.

Speaking at North East region, he said it is not everybody who will get that he has and that in the four years of his coming, he will perform much better than what he did during his previous administration.

He explained that being out of office for 8 years gave him the opportunity to look back to identify some of the things he couldn’t do.

“But on reflection, I have been out of office for 8 years, it gives me the opportunity to look back and look at some of the things we could have done better. And not everybody who gets that opportunity to become president, you go out of office and you get the opportunity to come back again. And so I know that in the coming four years, I will be a much better president than even when I was the first president.” He stated.

According to him, the reflection will give him focus on the things that we need to do to turn around the fortunes of our country as quickly as possible.

“One because of the experience that I have been president before and two I have had the opportunity to reflect on my period of time as a president. And it gives me a focus on the things that we need to do to turn around the fortunes of our country as quickly as possible” Mahama said.

Mr. Mahama is optimistic to win the 2024 elections to come back again.

He has on many occasions stated that as the former president, he will be able to turn the economy better to bring relief to ordinary Ghanaians.

He urged Ghanaians to vote against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December polls.

The former president stressed that he will be surprised if Ghanaians vote for the NPP again looking at the economic hardship the NPP imposed on the people of Ghana.

“We have the opportunity to make a change, we have the opportunity to make a choice, and so Ghanaians are called upon again on 7th December 2024 to exercise their mandate and make a choice and after what we have gone through in seven and a half years, it surprises me, anybody who will still go to the ballot box and say he is going to vote for NPP again. Maybe those who have made money under this government, yes they will go and vote again but I know that the majority of Ghanaians have seen a reversal in the quality of their lives in the seven and a half years.”

“And the majority of Ghanaians who are finding it difficult to put food on the table for your children, the majority of Ghanaians who are finding it difficult to travel because you cannot afford the transport fares, the drivers of this country who can’t buy fuel, the teachers who do not have learning aids in school, the nurses who have finished school and are sitting at home, I know that the majority of these people will make a good choice” He emphasized.
