John Dramani Mahama, freshly sworn in as the President of Ghana, has declared his administration’s commitment to resetting the nation’s governance and economy. Addressing a hopeful crowd in Accra on Tuesday, January 7, he outlined a vision for a new era of leadership aimed at easing the hardships Ghanaians have faced in recent years.
Flanked by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, President Mahama framed his government as a team equipped with both experience and fresh resolve. “This marks the beginning of a new chapter—an opportunity to steer Ghana toward a better future through thoughtful governance and sound economic policies,” he said.
Acknowledging the economic turbulence of recent years, Mahama assured citizens that his administration would adopt bold and innovative strategies to improve livelihoods. Central to his campaign promise was the notion of a “reset”—a comprehensive overhaul of key sectors to foster growth and stability.
“This reset requires faith—not only in our leadership but in the potential of Ghana itself,” he noted. “Together, with shared belief and determination, we can build a nation where everyone prospers.”
The President reiterated his pledge to deliver on ambitious reforms, including the creation of a 24-hour economy, which he believes will increase productivity and create jobs. He also stressed the importance of unity, urging Ghanaians to place their trust in his government.
With high expectations and a clear mandate, Mahama’s administration is poised to embark on a journey that aims to reshape Ghana’s future.
