Mahama Urges Ghanaian Youth to Dream of a Renewed Nation Ahead of Elections
Mahama outlined his economic agenda, promising reforms to bolster Ghana’s business climate and ensure round-the-clock opportunities for its citizens.
Former President John Dramani Mahama has issued an impassioned plea to Ghana’s youth, urging them to envision a revitalized future amid current frustrations under the Akufo-Addo administration.
Speaking at a media briefing on Sunday at Kempinski Hotel, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer emphasized his vision for transformative change if elected in the upcoming December polls, explicitly focusing on empowering young people.
Acknowledging widespread disillusionment among the youth towards the political establishment, Mahama pledged comprehensive reforms to restore faith and integrate youth voices into national governance.
“To the youth of Ghana, I understand your frustration and disillusionment. Many of you feel deeply let down. I share your scepticism and lack of confidence in our political leadership because the current government has not earned your trust,” Mahama remarked.
Despite prevailing challenges, Mahama called upon Ghanaian youth to look ahead and envision a “reset” for Ghana. In this future, merit and diligence determine success.
“I envision a Ghana where your aspirations are not sidelined but are central to our progress and prosperity. I am committed to creating an inclusive society where youth participation drives our nation forward,” he affirmed.
Mahama outlined his economic agenda, promising reforms to bolster Ghana’s business climate and ensure round-the-clock opportunities for its citizens.
“This is more than a promise; it is a commitment to reset our economy and open Ghana for business 24 hours a day,” he concluded.
Mahama, who served as Ghana’s President from 2012 to 2017, is set to challenge incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo in the upcoming elections. Youth empowerment and economic revitalization are central to his campaign.
