The retired General had considerable experience in command, intelligence, training, and staff appointments at various levels in the GAF. In International Peacekeeping/Support Operations, he served on four (4) different occasions with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL); was the Chief Operations Officer with the UN Assistance Mission in Rwanda; the UN Preventive Deployment Force (UNPREDEP) in former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia; UN Mission in Eritrea/Ethiopia (UNMEE) and the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). He was the Commanding Officer of the second Ghanaian battalion of the ECOWAS Mission in La Cote d’Ivoire (ECOMICI GHANBATT 2) in 2003/2004.

The writer thanks the GAF, the last bastion of discipline, loyalty and integrity in the country, for the opportunities it gave the retired General to serve his God and beloved country whilst in uniform. It also acknowledges that the GAF also helped him to enrich his academic knowledge in several many ways, reinforcing the often forgotten view that the GAF remains a citadel of professionals and professionalism. It is hoped that the present and future generations will do nothing to undermine the human resource base of the institution.

Maj Gen Adeti retired from the GAF on 14th August 2018, after the ultimate and penultimate appointments as the Chief of Staff (COS) of the GAF and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) the Southern Command of the Ghana Army, respectively.

He is currently the Board Chairman of his beloved alma mater, Saint Martin’s Senior High School, Nsawam.

He is married with children and now enjoys watching football, doing academic research and many other things in a relaxed manner.
