Man accused of killing business associate arraigned before Court

Businessman Daniel Obikyere Akaffo has been arraigned before the Criminal Division of the High Court in Accra for the alleged murder of Godfred Agbovie.
The accused is facing charges of causing Agbovie’s death through unlawful harm.

A forensic pathologist’s report confirmed that Agbovie died from shotgun wounds to the head and chest.

Presiding over the case, Justice Mary E.A Yanzuh remanded Akaffo into lawful custody after he pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

The businessman is expected to reappear before the court today, February 4, 2025.
Background of the Case
According to the prosecution, Agbovie went missing on November 29, 2016, after being lured to a meeting under the pretense of a business transaction involving pigs and gravel. His skeletal remains were discovered two months later in the Ameyaokope forest near Sege.
Investigations traced the phone records used to contact Agbovie to a SIM card linked to Akaffo.
