Management of HOTCATT urges Students to explore opportunities in the Hospitality

Persons who want to pursue a career in the hospitality and tourism sector have been encouraged by the management of Hotel, Catering and Tourism Training Institute (HOTCATT) to enroll in the institute’s academic programs for the year 2020 to build their capacities in the tourism and hospitality industries in Ghana and beyond.

It said enrollment start in January, 2020, stating that, whilst the focus on admission was Junior and Senior High school leavers, graduates from tertiary institutions had also been trained in the fields of foods production, house keeping, food and beverage services, tour guiding, tour operation including front desk services.

In a press release copied to GhanaNewsOnline.com.gh, the management of the school says, its mandate is to provide skills at the basic, intermediary and supervisory levels to upgrade the competences of all levels of personnel in the hotel, catering and tourism sector to help transform Ghana into a competitive tourism destination.

It said, its courses are in high demand all over the world, noting that, the hospitality and tourism industry is really huge and holds a wide range of job opportunities for a budding career. A certificate in hospitality management according the management of HOTCATT would open doors to an exciting career with tremendous opportunities in numerous areas with a very promising salary range.

HOTCATT, this news portal has established, is an agency under Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts. The institute was established in 1991 by the Government of Ghana to train personnel to deliver services for the Non-Aligned Movement conference held in 1991.

Given the emphasis placed on the tourism sector as a drive for socio-economic and environment, the Government decided to maintain the institute to train a pool of personnel to work in the tourism and hotel industry.
