Mankessim Chief and Queen mother arrested for murder of BNI Officer

The Central Regional Police Command has caused the arrest of the Chief and Queen mother of Mankessim, Nana Osagyefo Amanfo Adu VI and Nana Ama Amissah III respectively to assist in investigations into circumstances leading to the murder of Samuel Ampofo, a BNI officer and one other.

The two suspects have given their statements to the police and were arraigned before the Saltpond District court Tuesday presided over by Her worship Patience Ablorh.

They have been remanded into police custody to reappear on the 8th of January 2020. The case is still under investigation.

It would be recalled that over a fortnight ago, two people an operative of the Bureau of National Investigations(BNI) and a student were shot to death by some unknown gunmen at Mankessim during the installation of a queen mother which turned violent.

The installation was met with resistance from a rival faction that saw seven others sustaining various injuries.
