Mayera – Adusa NDC Soldiers On

Four polling stations at Adusa, which are part of wards at Mayera in the Amasaman Constituency, have not rested on their oars since the NDC lost power.

Subsequently, officials there have embarked upon re-registration and re-organization of members and branches, setting Sundays as their meeting days.

This came to light when we stumbled on their meeting at Adusa last Sunday October 16, 2022. Even though, it had rained heavily, members defied the rains and attended the meeting in their numbers.

Briefing ghananewsonline.com.gh Mr. Opam Brown, spokesman for the occasion in whose house the meetings are held indicated that, they embarked on this meeting in mid-2022, and the response has been that massive as they are so far happy with the membership and their enthusiasm.

“You can even stay on till the end of the meeting and you will see things for you as seeing is believing!” he urged.

He indicated that the Amasaman seat used to be theirs, (NDC’s) but they lost it in 2016. However, with their recent move, they are even gaining members in the strong holds of their opponents.

Mr. Brown maintained that they will do everything within the limits of their ability to regain the seat for the NDC, come 2024, stressing that with the current economic hardship in the country, everything pointed to the fact that the NDC was coming back to power, come 2024. According to him they are doing this exercise on the quiet, minus floats and fanfare.

NPP Breaking the 8?

Touching on NPP’s claim of breaking the 8, “Mr. Brown stated that it was nothing but a sham. This is because even some of their members had lost hope and given up on their party because of the hardship they are going through. Mr. Brown indicated that they are not going to be complescent, and they will leave no stone unturned in their quest to bring NDC back to power, come 2024. In this respect, he called for solid unity among members, stressing that it was disunity that led the party to lose the election and the constituency.

Branches Pick Officials

According to Mr. Brown and Officials there, in order to ensure that they succeed in their quest to “Bring Back the NDC in 2024”, Officials for various positions have been picked; after picking  and filling  nominations forms the previous Sunday and they will go through vetting and endorsement in the coming week.

Other officials at the meeting were, Joseph Senu, sitting and aspiring chairman for Adusa B; Daniel Okraku, former Chairman for Adusa A, Mark Akrofi –Quarcoo, Former Treasurer.
