Presenting the items to beneficiaries at Mantse Agboena, James Town in Accra, Dr. McKorley expressed his heartfelt joy in supporting the less privileged.
“My heart is always gladdened when I see the poor excited. You know where I come from and where I stand in this country when it comes to giving back to Mother Ghana and various communities,” McDan stated.
He emphasized that the McDan Group has been engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the past 20 years, and the donation forms part of ongoing efforts to support the vulnerable.
“Life is difficult, the system is difficult, and the economy is challenging. Widows are among the most forgotten people in this country. So, if you ask me, I am very excited to celebrate the whole day with them,” he added.

He expressed optimism about further collaborations with the McDan Group to combine products from both countries for food production in Ghana.
The beneficiary widows expressed their gratitude to McDan and its partners for the support.
The initiative is expected to be extended to other parts of the country soon.
As a prelude to the main distribution exercise, medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, public health practitioners, lecturers, psychologists, laboratory service providers, and pharmacists from VIVA Health and Medical Foundation, conducted a health screening exercise for widows and residents of James Town and its environs.
The screening covered Body Mass Index (BMI) checks, malaria testing, hepatitis B screening, dental checks, ENT examinations, fat and blood sugar tests, and blood pressure monitoring, among others. Prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications were dispensed freely to those diagnosed with ailments.
This year’s edition of the McDan Widows Support Project, an annual initiative by the McDan Foundation, coincided with the 2025 International Women’s Day celebration.
