MCE for Keta bitterly weeps over the death of Rawlings

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Keta Assembly in the Volta Region, Godwin Effah, wept uncontrollably when news of the demise of former President Jerry John Rawlings got to him.

The MCE who received the sad news while hosting dignitaries at this year’s trade fare held in Keta to showcase and market the products of the Municipality to the world, could not author a word as tears started flowing uncontrollably.

He told Ghananewsonline.com.gh that the first gettleman in the fourth Republic of Ghana was a true son of the country who fought with his life to put the country on the right track.

“I received the news as a shocking one because I saw him just last Sunday here in Keta, little did I know he will sojourn to his maker. My recent encounter with the late former President was during his mother’s funeral about two weeks ago at Dzelukope, you know Rawlings is a son of the Keta Municipality, I prepared his mother’s death certificate together with the burrier permit” Godwin Effah has stated

He, said the death of Chairman Rawlings has createed a great vacuum in the country especially in the anlo state, claiming that the whole Anlo state is the hardly hit by his demise.

The former President died on Thursday morning at exactly 10:10am while recieving treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
