Meet the Press: MCE for Nkoranza accounts for Stewardship

As President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has always said, “there should be deeper transparency in the governance system in order for those in authority to effectively account to the people,” the Nkoranza South Municipal Assembly has held it’s maiden meet the press encounter to account for the stewardship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s three years in office.

Diana Attaa-Kusiwaa, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) stated that the encounter is in line with the NPP’s campaign promise of not keeping the Ghanaian people in the dark as far as governance is concerned, with the objective of interacting and presenting the performance of the municipality for the years she has occupied the office as the MCE for the Nkoranza South Minicipal Assembly.

According to her, the Assembly has equally benefited from the national cake as disbursed by the central government. She revealed that the Assembly has as part of the one million on constituency policy which is geared towards the IPEP has constructed numerous toilet facilities, boreholes, markets, among others widely spread across the area.

Madam Dina Attaa Kusiwa highlighted other policies like the one district one factory, planting for export and rural development, nation builders Corp, Planting for food and jobs which she revealed has created more employment for the youth of the area and Ghanaians as a whole.

She highlighted the impact the free Senior High School policy has played in the development of education in the municipality as she charged the first batch of free Senior high School beneficiaries to do the government proud by passing their pending West Africa Secondary School certificate examination with distinction to shame critics of the great policy Ghana has ever had.

MCE explained that, even though the Nkoranza South Municipality is not taking part in the district level elections to elect Assembly members and their unit committees at the local Assembly’s, they will take part in the impending referendum and therefore called on each and everyone to play active role in the campaign and also go out to massively vote for a YES.
