Melcom donates to support IFEJ Awards and 11 Health Centers

The CSR initiative is in memory of the late Chairman of the Melcom Group

 

In accordance with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, the Melcom Group of Companies has donated some electrical gadgets including a 43 inch Satellite LED TV and Home Theater System to the Institute of Financial and Economic Journalists (IFEJ) in support of their award ceremony slated for this weekend.

The Group is also supporting Hannah Ader-Mensah to register for and participate in an Online Public Health Conference by the MAGNUS GROUP LEC in Chicago, USA.

The Director of Communications for the Melcom Group, Godwin Avenorgbo, said the CSR initiative is in memory of the late Chairman of the Melcom Group.

They also made a donation of medical refrigerators to support eleven (11) leading medical centre’s, namely, Lucca Medical Centre, Maamobi General Hospital, Lister Hospital, Danpong Medical Centre, Ashaiman Polyclinic and Franklin Medical Centre.

The rest are: University of Ghana Medical Centre, Albany Specialist Clinic, Narh-Bita Hospital, 37 Military Hospital and Holy Trinity Medical Centre,

The donation was a follow up support for a successful nationwide blood donation exercise held a few weeks ago in conjunction with the National Blood Service.

Mr. Avenorgbo noted that, his former boss, “was a man with a very keen interest in media development, such that his number one routine every morning at his office was to check newspaper headlines and contents”, in an attempt to support the underprivileged in society when reported in the Media.

He said the day’s event was therefore dedicated to the memory of “our founder and late Group Chairman Mr. Bhagwan Ramchand Khubchandani who is now succeeded by his beautiful wife Mrs. Sheila Khubchandani”.

He assured Ghanaians and “all our patrons that the transition was smooth, seamless and virtually effortless because he was a visionary leader who built a team of knowledgeable successors; each of whom is capable of team Leadership”.
