PROTOA urges Members to Comply with New Transport Fares
Acting National Chairman for the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA), Benjamin Agorsu Katsekpor, has called on all transport owners and drivers in the association to comply with the new transport fares announced last Thursday.
According to him the transport sector plays an integral role in the economy hence the need to co-operate with stakeholders in the interest of the general public.

Ben Katsekpor’s call follows the announcement of a 13% upward review of public transport fares for the year 2021 effective Saturday June 5 as contained in a press release jointly issued by the Road Transport Operators on Thursday June 3.
The release said “in line with the administrative arrangement on public transport fares, the road transport operators have reviewed the prices of various components that go into the running of commercial transport services”.
It added that “after a long and difficult negotiations with stakeholders a 13% upward adjustment in public transport fares across all category of services has been agreed upon to accommodate an increase in the price of fuel”.
