Mensah Thompson of ASEPA writes to NDC’s Joshua Akamba
This is my last political piece for the year and there is a strong reason why I had to save this for the last day of the year…
2020 actually begins tomorrow, another election cycle begins and a lot is going to happen during the year.
It is my prayer that in the new, the NDC learns and understands politics.
Anywhere Joshua Akamba is someone should give him a big hug for me….
I don’t necessarily ascribe to the violence part of his comments but there is a lot of sense in what said however controversial.
(don’t ask me what he said…)
You see in Politics we reward Loyalty and Competence not ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION.
In the corporate world, Academic qualification may top the order of selection, but in the Political World its Loyalty first, then competence then we can talk about Qualification.
The intricacies of modern day politics do not allow you to put anyone in any position just because he is academically qualified, NO!…the person must first be loyal to your party, its ideals and it’s people.
The NDC would need a lot of awakening and commitment from its grassroot ahead of the 2020 elections, and statements like this one from Joshua Akamba could just do the trick…and the Party must be willing and ready to stand by Akamba’s comment and defend it.
Forget about the so called media backlash… the NDC is the largest Political Party in terms of numbers, if your core supporters alone are energised and they go out in their numbers to vote for you, you would need just a little push and you are already in the promised land.
I have always said that the NDC don’t understand Politics, the individualism in the Party do not make room for progressive fight, the enemy is without not within…
They must begin to learn the principle of you are either with us or against us…as radically espoused by the NPP.
As for the game of Politics I always salute the NPP, they understand the game way better than the NDC but the NDC must begin to learn this game called politics just for its survival because its main contender the NPP is a treacherous animal and they won’t be able to survive the next decade if they continue like this.
The NDC must be willing and ready to do 10 times what this government has done after 2020 to return this Country back to normalcy, I just pray they have balls not just to execute but also defend their own “shit” when the time arrives.
May 2020 be full more “Joshua Akamba” comments…Happy New Year in advance!!!
