MILITARY MADNESS: …not isolated, must be dealt with comprehensively…

Must it be a norm that anytime a Military person is beaten, killed or loses a property; that the Military must take the law into their hands and brutalise civilians?

Ashiaman Military brutalities did not start at Ashiaman nor will it end in Ashiaman;

IF THE MILITARY IMPUNITY IS NOT TACKLED HOLISTICALLY.

The Ejura Committee of Enquiry was useless, just as an Ashiaman Commission of Enquiry will be useless…

Because the La & Wa Brutalities by men in Ghana Army uniforms were not investigated nor the culprits punished to serve as deterrent to others…

On 15th April, 2021 armed men in Ghana Army uniforms backed by several armoured military vehicles, were deployed to Kpletso to shoot live bullets and assault unarmed Ghanaian citizens including journalists so prime lands can be stolen in the name of the Military…

The Military High Command after pretending to be investigating the Kpletso Shooting and Assault, has consistently ignored several requests for information on the status of the investigation.

On 1st July, 2021 the Military without permission from their superiors; went on the rampage on the streets of Wa beating everybody in sight because a soldier’s phone had allegedly been stolen…

President Akufo-Addo led a delegation of the Defence Minister, Interior Minister, Chief of Defence Staff and the Military High Command to go and beg the Chiefs and People of Wa for Forgiveness for the criminals who went on the rampage on the streets of Wa, instead of punishing the mutineers.

On 25th August, 2020 at Dome Faase; two Landguards in Ghana Army uniforms were nearly lynched while undertaking a private operation for an Ex-serviceman Barfuor Sarpong Kumankuma masquerading as Mponuahene of the Okyehene’s Apedwahene…

Dome Faase was turned into a Ghost Town by the Military after the video of the bleeding two men in Ghana Army uniforms went viral even though their Landguard Operation was not sanctioned by the Military High Command.

There were very serious agitations by the Military to storm Denkyira Obuasi following the lynching of Major Adam Mahama…

The Government and the Military High Command managed to diffuse the urge by the Ghana Armed Forces to avenge the gruesome murder of Major Adam Mahama.

Must it be a norm that anytime a Military person is beaten, killed or loses a property; that the Military must take the law into their hands and brutalise civilians?

Must the Military take property such as the Kpletso Land by force, rather than with due process of the Laws of Ghana and in conformity with the Constitution of Ghana?

IS THE MILITARY ABOVE THE LAW?

The Military must be restricted to their barracks which must be immediately relocated outside civilian populated areas.

BURMA CAMP MUST BE MOVED TO SAGLEMI.

The Military must be prohibited from participating in civil operations with the Police or alone.

The Military must be restricted to their function of protecting the territory and borders of Ghana from external aggression including the infiltration of insurgents.

The Ghana Police Service must be resourced, equipped and staffed to effectively perform their Constitutional duties of policing without the Military.

THERE MUST BE A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF MILITARY & POLICE DUTIES RELATIVE TO CIVILIAN POPULATION.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister and other government officials penchant for using Armed men in military uniforms must be prohibited…

The reckless driving of Military on roads and the carrying or escort of Bank Bullion by Military must be immediately stopped and handled by the police…

COMPENSATION AND SANCTIONS:

All those who deploy or participate in criminal activities of the Military must be surcharged with any costs or compensation and be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others.

NEVER AGAIN TO THE MILITARY IMPUNITY AND MADNESS.

STAY TUNED
