Ministerial Hijack of GETFUND Scholarships; A Torture of the Less Privileged Ghanaian Student

Oh Mother Ghana….when shall we be fair to the less privileged….?

When shall we oh Mother Ghana , learn to be fair to the Ghanian student…???

When shall we learn to bridge the gap between the poor and the wealthy with education as a yardstick…?

Many are the afflictions of the less privileged Ghanaian student.

Education remains the biggest opportunity for the less privileged Ghanaian student like me to turn the fortunes of my poor family around .

The good, bad, and the ugly are the moments any tertiary student would not want to ever forget. Especially those of us born devoid of silver spoons in our mouths.

Despite the tears , the pains and disgrace, the poor Ghanian student who had struggled to secure good grades is denied scholarships whiles the politician, the minister and the member of Parliament who rather should have ensured that, these suffering, fatherless and motherless students are sponsored by the state to restore their hopes of redeeming their families of poverty, are denied a fair share of the national cake.

It is rather sad to learn that, some ministers and Members of Parliament who have state entitlements at their disposal even in the absence of GETFUND Scholarships, rather choose to additionally hijack and steal scholarships meant for the brilliant but poor Ghanian student for their selfish gains .

The toils of that motherless and fatherless child in school continue to breed more discomfort under the heat of the sun and under the heavy rains, whiles the comfortability of the minister continues to expand it’s territories because the poor student has been denied access to deserving opportunities.

When shall the Ghanaian student taste fairness in Ghana Education …??

When shall the poor but needy Ghanaian student be clothed with smile, equity and justice…??

Fellow citizens, the absolute torture and the denial of the Ghanian student cannot continue in this manner. I weep for the subsequent generation if this trend continues.

I am now of the belief that , even scholarships would not be Awarded to you and I, unless we’re either ministers or legislators, or we do the necessary evil in the name of connection.

The Ghanaian student wail for justice ……..

the Ghanaian student thirst not for luxury, but for the word fairness.

I hope and trust that we shall learn as a people, NOT to endorse these same people to represent us in their quest to be part of decision making .

GOD BLESS THE GHANAIAN STUDENT

GOD STRENGTHEN THE GHANAIAN STUDENT AND MAY HE GIVE US THE STRENGTH TO OVERCOME OUR STRUGGLES
