Mohammed Salisu set to leave English Premier League side Southampton FC

Ghana’s Black Stars defender, Mohammed Salisu is on his way out of English Premier League side Southampton FC, Dailymailgh.com understands.

The defender has been left out of the team’s match day squads recently missing crucial games as the team fights to avoid relegation lying last on the league log after 30 matches.

He was absent from Ghana’s recent international matches due to “injuries at his club”, according to Black Stars boss Chris Hughton.

Nonetheless, the former Real Valladolid defender has missed two games against West Ham United and Manchester City FC in recent games.

English outfit, Athletic has now reported that Salisu’s continued absence is due to concerns about his attitude as the club hierarchy believes he’s not committed to the team.

The Ghanaian international reportedly wishes to cut off contract negotiations until the end of the season, and with just over a year left on his contract, his time at St Mary’s may be coming to an end.

It remains to be seen what role he will play in the remainder of Southampton’s season, as they have eight games left to secure their Premier League status, starting with a match against Crystal Palace this weekend.
