He said many drivers, in their haste to cash in on the festive season, ignore traffic regulations and fail to observe road signs resulting in these avoidable carnages.

“We all know that the Christmas and new year season is here again, and many people, especially our commercial drivers would want to seize every opportunity to maximize their earnings – but let us not sacrifice precious lives all because of money. Let’s avoid overspending, wrongful overtaking and all reckless driving habits to forestall these accidents,” he said.

He expressed appreciation to all members of Max Transport Union and all it’s executives for their dedication and commitment to the cause of the union over the years and asked for God’s guidance and protection for them in the coming years.
