Member of Parliament for the Asante Akyem North Constituency, Andy Appiah Kubi, has called on the supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and all well-meaning Ghanaians to throng and fill the stands of the Baba Yara Stadium as Kotoko battles it out with Coton Sports of Cameroun in the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday.
Kotoko will play host to the Cameroonian side in a second leg CAF Confederations Cup game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Kotoko won the first leg in Garoua by 3-2 and must avoid defeat of a two-goal margin to make it to the money zone or the group stage of the competition.
The revered lawmaker made this call when he spoke with the media on the sidelines of his familiarization tour in his constituency.
“Asante Kotoko being the sole representative of Ghana in this competition needs to be supported and by this, I entreat all Ghanaians to support the team with prayers. The presence of the supporters in the stadium will also go a long way to boost the morale of the boys, therefore we should make it a point to troop to the stadium in our numbers,” he added.
