MP for Shai Osudoku provides sustainable jobs to 650 Constituents

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Shai Osudoku constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Linda Akweley Ocloo, has provided sustainable jobs to about 650 people for the year 2021 with the donation of 60 sets of hair dryers and 60 sewing machines to support ladies in her constituency who have successfully undergone training in hairdressing and fashion designing.

Addressing the 5th graduating class at Asutsuare, to present the items, Madam Ocloo, said, the donation was to fulfill her pledge to the leaders of the Hairdressers and Seamstresses Association to support them.

According to her, she is always available to empower and improve the livelihood of the trainees.

She also supported the Association with financial packages throughout their apprenticeship training.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Fred Offei, used the occasion to advise the graduands to add value to what they have leant and make a life out of it. He awarded the best hairdresser and best madam with a hair dryer, a washing basin and a sewing machine.

Meanwhile, the constituency communications officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dennis Adjannor Nartey, has in a statement noted that communities such as: Apperkon, Djoman, Sota, Abonya Wedokum, Ramahtown, Fulani and, Flatland that have also benefited from the MPs apprenticeship program in areas such as, soap making, sanitisers, hair products, shampoo making, Batiq tie and die, pastries, among others, bringing the number to about 650.
