Joseph Betino, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Suaman in the Western North Region, has donated wheelchairs to physically challenged individuals in his constituency to facilitate their movement.

Mr. Betino provided over 50 wheelchairs to these individuals, stating that the donation aims to ease their mobility. “The 50 physically challenged beneficiaries were drawn from my Suaman Constituency,” he said.

As a member of the Food and Agriculture Committee of Parliament, Betino noted that he was motivated to source the wheelchairs after recognizing the challenges faced by persons with disabilities, particularly in rural areas. He highlighted the difficulties these individuals encounter when moving long distances and the economic hardship that prevents them from purchasing wheelchairs.

“I am most grateful to the people of Suaman who voted for me in 2020 and especially to these physically challenged persons. I thank them for the opportunity,” Betino added.

This group includes individuals with visual impairments, hearing impairments, mental retardation, emotional or behavioral disorders, and other physical challenges.
