Election 2020: MP for Tempane, Kpemka Dindiok, touts Achievements in his constituency
Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tempane Constituency in the Upper East Region, Joseph Kpemka Dindiok, has sent a strong signal to his main opponent and candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), that, he is firmly on the ground representing his people and playing his role as a development agent to their expectation.
Briefing the Press in Parliament on Thursday, August 13, 2020, the MP who also doubles as the current Deputy Attorney General, responded to some allegations by his opponent, Ms Lydia Akanvariba Lamisi, about the lack of development in his Constituency during an interview with an Accra based media house, Citi FM.
According to Mr. Kpemka Dindiok, never has there been so much development in his constituency in past years such as is happening under his tenure as the Member of Parliament and under the Leadership of President Akufo-Addo’s Government.

He observed that during this three years and seven months that he has had the opportunity to represent the people of Tempane on the ticket of the Governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), he has been able to lobby the government to undertake massive developmental projects in the area far more than what was done in the 8 years of the NDC.
He told the Parliamentary Press that he has so far facilitated the construction of 11 dams in his constituency under the One District, One Dam project to enhance the cultivation of onions in large quantities for commercial purposes, which is the mainstay of the people in his area.
He has facilitated the connection of 42 communities onto the national grid under the Rural Electrification Project and championed the course for one of the biggest road and infrastructure projects in the constituency worth over GHC 60 million.
“Since Independence, I repeat this. Since Independence, we have never ever witnessed the massive road infrastructure development we are witnessing in Tempane as it is today. Six major roads are under construction in my constituency and again the evidence is there for all to see. Gutters have been constructed; culverts have been constructed; bridges have been constructed; and the various roads are at various stages of completion,” he indicated.
The Deputy Attorney General also indicated that under his leadership as MP and the Government of the current President, has given a massive lift to the educational infrastructure in the Tempane Constituency. He said 13 basic schools are under construction at various stages in his constituency, with two of the six unit classroom blocks fully completed among other projects.
He further indicated that the only Senior High School in Tempane which was faced with accommodation challenges at the inception of this Government, has been given a massive face lift to the extent that the school authorities have decided to seek clearance to end the double track system in the school. Adding that, the only bus ever given to the school by any government ever since it was established in 1998, was handed over just last week.
“From scratch, two brand new dormitories have been constructed and have fully completed and handed over and are being used. These contracts were awarded in 2017 and work began on the later part of 2018. They have been completed and handed over to the school. Then also, one was at the lentil level when we came to power, it has also been completed and handed over to the school.
“So as I speak, only in Tempane Senior School, three brand new dormitories have been handed over. Then again, the Ministry of Education has awarded yet another dormitory for construction but the contractor is yet to move to site. In addition, in that same school, a four unit classroom block has been completed and handed over to the school,” the Member of Parliament for Tempane indicated.
