Young Parliamentarian Forum Congratulates Young MPs Nominated to Various Ministerial Positions
The Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) has congratulated the Young Members of Parliament on their nomination and appointment to fill various Ministerial and Deputy Ministerial positions under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government.
“This is the first of many moments of congratulatory messages on your well-deserved nomination and appointment to a higher office in the country,” a statement from the group noted.
The young determined Members of Parliament who have been nominated and subsequently assumed various Ministerial portfolios after Parliamentary approvals include Hon. Sarah Adjoa Safo MP for Dome Kwabenya and Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah MP for Ofoase Ayeribi and Minister for Information, Hon Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye MP for Bantama and Minister for Works and Housing.
“We are also highly elated that H. E the President has nominated our resourceful President of the Young Parliamentarians Forum, Hon. George Mireku Duker, Member of Parliament for Tarkwa- Nsuaem as Deputy Minister Designate for Lands and Natural Resources. Hon. Mireku Duker’s versatility, dedication and exemplary leadership qualities has earned him several successes in his political career which we are proud of,” the statement noted.
Other Members of the Forum nominated include Hon. Mavis Nkansa Boadu Member of Parliament for Afigya Sekyere East, Deputy Minister Designate for Roads and Highways, Hon. Nana Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, Member of Parliament for Akwapim North, Deputy Minister Designate for Trade and Industry, Hon John Ntim Fodjour, Member of Parliament for Assin North, Deputy Minister Designate for Education, among others.
According to the statement signed by its vice president the MP for Afram Plains North Hon. Betty Nana Afua Krosbi Mensah, the nominations go to demonstrate President Akufo-Addo’s believe in MPs and also buttresses his resolve in building a better future with deserving youth ambassadors.
“We appreciate the President for following the example of his predecessors believe in young people.
“To our colleague young MPs Ministers and Deputy Ministers Designate, you are a proof that good things come to those who are willing to sacrifice to achieve higher goals, as this new portfolio would be a good match for your skills and dedication.
“We urge you to keep working hard and give off your best to lift the image of Young Parliamentarians Forum high,” it noted.
It added that “Remember, to whom much is given, much is expected. Leadership and Members of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) are hopeful that this opportunity given to our young men and women would go a long way in strengthening and increasing the quantitative and qualitative participation of the Ghanaian youth in order to eradicate poverty, foster growth and ensure that the youth remain the most critical and influencing stakeholder in national development.
“We are certain that the President would be pleased to see you accomplishing greater heights for the youth in the country and this, we believe would serve as a guide for future appointments.
