In celebration of the 15th anniversary of MobileMoney Limited (MTN MoMo), MTN Ghana, the country’s leading telecommunications provider, engaged its customers across various communities, including Tema and Lapaz, to gather feedback on their experience using MTN MoMo and its mobile app.

During the interactions, MTN Ghana also took the opportunity to educate customers on the importance of safeguarding their MoMo PIN codes.

Launch of ‘Transact & Win’ Promotion

 

As part of the anniversary celebrations, MTN MoMo introduced an exciting promotion called the ‘Transact & Win’ promo, designed to reward loyal customers.

Abdul Razak Issahaku Ali, Chief Commercial Officer of MobileMoney Limited, expressed appreciation to all customers for their support over the years.

He explained that the promotion is aimed at showing gratitude for customer loyalty and encouraging further engagement with the service.

Ali urged all MoMo users to download or update the myMoMo app from the Play Store or App Store to access new features and participate in the promotion.

He highlighted that customers are not required to subscribe to take part—simply using MoMo for transactions automatically qualifies them for weekly and monthly rewards.

Promo Details: Weekly and Monthly Cash Prizes

Weekly Promo: From August 26 to November 30, 2024, 150 customers will have the chance to win GHS 1,500. Each week, 12 customers with the highest transaction volume and value will be rewarded, with an additional 18 customers rewarded in the final week, totaling 150 winners by the promotion’s end.

Monthly Promo: Every month, 15 customers will receive GHS 15,000, with winners selected based on transaction volume and value via the myMoMo app. The monthly promo runs from September 1 to November 30, 2024, resulting in 45 winners by the end of the promotion.

Customers are encouraged to start transacting today and download the myMoMo app to be part of the celebration. Winners will be contacted via MTN MoMo’s official line (0244 300 000) and will receive their prizes at the end of each month.

Caution Against Fraud

MTN MoMo advised customers to remain vigilant against fraud during the promotion. Customers were reminded that MTN MoMo does not request payment or PIN codes before awarding prizes, and any such requests should be treated as fraudulent. All official communication related to the promotion will come from MTN MoMo’s official contact number.

Anniversary Celebrations Across the Country

MTN MoMo’s 15th anniversary celebrations were launched under the theme ‘Empowering Communities’: Celebrating 15 Years of Progressive Financial and Digital Inclusion’, with market activations in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, and Ho. The celebrations also included floats in Tema, Kasoa, Sunyani, and Koforidua, where customers were given various gift items.

A stakeholder forum was organized to discuss the impact of emerging technologies in promoting financial inclusion, with other planned events such as a fraud awareness campaign, digital finance training for SMEs, a cashless market fair, and an awards ceremony to honor stakeholders who have contributed to the growth of MobileMoney in Ghana.
