MTN ready for another Lifesaving Nationwide Blood Donation Exercise
The MTN Save a Life Campaign has been organised by the MTN Foundation since 2011 and has yielded over 26000 units with 6440 yielded from the 2023 campaign alone
MTN Ghana Foundation is set to hold the 2024 edition of the annual MTN “Save A Life Campaign” Blood Donation Exercise on Valentine’s Day, 14th February 2024 at the MTN House, Accra and at designated bleeding centers across the country.
In partnership with like-minded organizations, the “Save A Life” blood donation exercise will be held at 47 centers in all 16 regions of Ghana. MTN is seeking to raise 7,000 units of blood to help medical facilities provide critical health care to its patients.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Senior Manager for Corporate Communications, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu reiterated MTN’s commitment to supporting health care delivery in Ghana.
She said, “Health is one of the crucial pillars that the MTN Foundation is concerned about. We have implemented various initiatives across the country to improve healthcare delivery and we remain committed to supporting this cause. Over the years, the campaign has proven to be very impactful. Since 2011, we have undertaken this blood donation exercise and as at last year, the total units donated had reached over 26,000 units. This has gone a long way to stock the blood banks, especially after the end-of-year festivities and the post-pandemic effects of a reduction in voluntary blood donation.”
She therefore encouraged the general public to take part in this exercise saying, “The MTN Save a Life Campaign is open to all. The Valentine’s season is a time to show love, and what better way to show love than to give back to those in need?”
The MTN Save a Life Campaign has been organised by the MTN Foundation since 2011 and has yielded over 26000 units with 6440 yielded from the 2023 campaign alone. In 2013 and 2015, the MTN Foundation was awarded the Highest Corporate Blood Donor by the National Blood Service Award
