MultiChoice Ghana Staff Wins the Silver Medal At Annual Breast Cancer Run

MultiChoice Ghana fielded mixed team of twenty staff 20 for the annual Breast Cancer Fundraising Run, organized by the charity group Run For A Cure, held last weekend in Accra. The event, aimed at raising awareness and funds for breast cancer treatment and early detection, drew widespread participation from individuals, corporate entities, and health advocates. MultiChoice Ghana is proud to be among the organizations supporting this vital cause.

The Breast Cancer Fundraising Run is a signature event organized by Run For A Cure in partnership with sponsorship with a host of organizations across the country. The funds generated from the run will directly support breast cancer patients, including providing access to free screening, treatment, and education for women in underserved communities. MultiChoice Ghana’s involvement in this initiative underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and community welfare.

Representing MultiChoice Ghana, Human Resources Manager Matilda Asare emphasized the importance of joining the fight against breast cancer. “Breast cancer remains one of the most significant health challenges affecting women in Ghana and globally. At MultiChoice Ghana, we believe in taking an active role in supporting initiatives like Run For A Cure that provide crucial support to women battling this disease. Our staff’s participation is a reflection of our collective commitment to promoting health and well-being in the communities we serve.”

Throughout the day, MultiChoice Ghana team members participated in the 5km and 10km races alongside thousands of runners, all united by a common purpose: to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer prevention, treatment, and research. Theodora Nortey, Growth Manager, MultiChoice Ghana won the silver medal in the Youth Division (25-35yrs) at the end of the race. Explaining her motivation to participate in this event she added “I believe in the cause and every step I took represents the work being done by campaigners to create more awareness for this cancer at home and the world over”.
