My dream is to bridge the gap between male and female rappers, says Eno Barony
“My dream is to bridge the gap between male and female rappers.” ''It looked like there was rap as a whole for the guys and then there was female rap, and I feel like I’ve done well in bridging that gap. “But the problem is that when everybody is looking at you, stones are being thrown at you as well. So, it’s a very big cross to carry,” Eno Barony said. She said that she’s thrilled to be credited as the pacesetter of rap in Ghana.
Speaking on Asaase Café on Thursday (14 December), the King of Queens said, “My dream is to bridge the gap between male and female rappers.”
”It looked like there was rap as a whole for the guys and then there was female rap, and I feel like I’ve done well in bridging that gap.
“But the problem is that when everybody is looking at you, stones are being thrown at you as well. So, it’s a very big cross to carry,” Eno Barony said.
She said that she’s thrilled to be credited as the pacesetter of rap in Ghana.
”I am happy I am going to be that person they will mention and say this woman paved the way for female rappers.
“I don’t want anybody to be like me; they should just believe in themselves. Maybe where I passed to make it, you might not make it successfully if you pass there,” she said.
She, however, acknowledged singer Mzbel for her consistency and the part she played for women in the music industry.
“I always admire Mzbel for her consistency. She was always going back to back with the guys in the industry.
“I think now people are accepting the fact that females can actually do this,” Eno Barony added.
