My Team and I are “ready to die” to Win Power in 2024 – Asiedu Nketiah

Newly elected National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, alias “General Mosquito” has said that the party’s new national executives are ready to die to win power in 2024.

Delivering his victory speech on Sunday morning shortly after he was declared winner of the fiercely contested championship at the Accra Sports Stadium the former General Secretary of the NDC warned the ruling NPP that there will be no room for rigging and that the new NDC executives will win power at all cost.

“We are prepared to sacrifice everything and I mean everything including our lives to achieve victory. Wherever impunity becomes law, resistance becomes a duty. Looking at the array of executives elected today I have no doubt the party wants us to carry the battle to the elephant, we cannot let the country, and we cannot let the party down,” he stated.

General Mosquito obtained 5569 votes representing 65.17% while Samuel Ofosu Ampofo polled 2892 votes representing
33.81%.

The longest-serving General Secretary urged NDC members to unite and work hard toward victory.

“We are not taking the confidence for granted, Ghana is in crisis and the NDC is also at a crossroads. What we need is unity, we pledge on behalf of myself and the new executives that in the coming days our first assignment is to work to unite the party and bring everybody on board even as we march forward to defeat the elephant and set the nation on the path of progress,” he said,

Former Propaganda Secretary and former convenor of the famous “Setting the Records” Fiifi Kwetey, grabbed the General Secretary slot beating competition from Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Peter Otokunor.
