Mampong Akuapim Traditional Council Lifts Ban On Noise Making for Ohum Odwira Festival

The Mampong Akuapim Traditional Council has lifted the ban of noise-making to pave way for the commencement of this year’s Ohum Odwira festival.

Speaking to the media about the new development, Nana Yirenkyi l, Apesemakahene in charge of the town’s communication hinted that this festival is different from previous ones because according to him there will not be a grand durbar as usual.

“There will be no street jams and other things because of COVID-19,” he said.

He said however that, the Ohum odwira festival can never be postponed because it is customary.

He said Mampong Akuapim is the first town to celebrate Ohum Odwira in Akuapim and that they will pray to God to help the world to overcome COVID-19.
