Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has officially accepted her nomination as the running mate of the Flagbearer and Leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, for the forthcoming presidential election.

This marks the second time that former President Mahama has chosen Prof. Opoku-Agyemang to join him on the ticket, a move that underscores his commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and the empowerment of women in Ghanaian politics.

Expressing her gratitude and honour in accepting the nomination, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, in a statement said, “It is with profound humility and great honour that I receive the news of my confirmed selection as the Running Mate to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.”

“By this choice, our Flagbearer has demonstrated remarkable consistency, an unwavering commitment to inclusivity and innovation, and an inspirational belief in the Ghanaian woman.”

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also extended her heartfelt appreciation to the NDC Council of Elders, the National Executive Committee, party members, friends, well-wishers, and all Ghanaians for their overwhelming support and endorsement.

She emphasized her readiness and commitment to partner with John Mahama to serve the people of Ghana with integrity, dignity, and patriotism, aiming to reposition Ghana as a beacon of hope and opportunity.
