The trainees last week demonstrated over unpaid salaries arrears.

Following the demonstration, a Deputy Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman, received their petition on behalf of the Vice President and assured that the government was going to address their concerns.

“This government is indeed a listening government so these things that you have scripted shall be carefully considered at the highest levels and as soon as it is practicable, you would hear something tangible on the issues you have raised,” Mr Adumua-Bossman told them.

In a statement dated August 22, issued and signed by National President of the NABCO Trainees Dennis Opoku Asiedu, the trainees said “We hereby bring to the notice of the government that following the picketing held on the 18 the August 2022, we are giving stakeholders a one week window to respond relievedly to our petition.

“In effect, if by the close of this week 26 of August we have not gotten any response there shall be Phase II of the picketing for which the destination point will be the Jubilee House, our initial target point for Phase I but had to be changed due to security concerns raised by the Police.

“We are counting on the assuring words from the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman which were given on behalf of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to get a positive response by the close of this week.”
