NANA ASANTE BEDIATUO: Did your Executive Secretary fraudulently misrepresent you on 9th May, 2017, Mr. President? Owula Mangortey wonders

I am a Citizen.

I rise to ask Gabriel Asare Otchere-Darko (GABBY) whether the Secretary to the President FRAUDULENTLY MISREPRESENTED my respected Retired and Tired President Billy Akufo-Addo on 9th May, 2017.

I so ask because GABBY is a nephew of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

In addition, GABBY’s posture on social media gives the impression that he has insider knowledge of occurences in his uncle’s government.

GABBY, in the early days of the Akufo-Addo government, the Secretary to the President issued a letter (copy attached), reference number OPS 101/1 vol. 3/17/756 of 9th May, 2017, titled APPOINTMENTS AT GHANA NATIONAL GAS COMPANY LIMITED.

Addressed to “Mr. Asante,” the Secretary to the President’s letter had the following content:

“The President has nominated Mr. Ernest Kofi Owusu Bempah and Ms Augustina Asare Osei as Communication Manager and Senior Manager (for External Relations, Government and Communities) respectively of Ghana National Gas Company Limited.”

“Kindly take steps to regularise the said appointments,” he wrote.

He ended with, “I thank you for your cooperation.”

It is the prerogative of His Excellency the President to appoint any persons of his choice to represent him in the Public Sector.

However, what would motivate the President to
appoint persons into middle management and senior management positions at Ghana Gas which is a limited liability company owned by GNPC?

GABBY, don’t you think that decision purported to have been taken by the President was unprecedented by a constitutional government since Ghana attained its independence?

Are you aware that the issuance of this letter resulted in the termination of the appointments of two Ghanaians, the most well known is ALFRED COMMIETEY OGBARMEY, the Communication Manager of Ghana Gas?

GABBY, are you aware that The appointment letter signed by the Secretary to the President and the termination letters signed by Dr. Ben Asante of Ghana Gas were immediately brought to the attention of the following official and unofficial Advisors of President Akufo-Addo?:

(1) Kan Dapaah… National Security Minister

(2). Francis Poku… former National Security Minister

(3). Kweku Sintim Misa (KSM)….. son of former Presby Church Moderator, Rev. Sintim- Misa.

The Security Capos were clear in their minds that given his stature, political experience, legal and human rights credentials, His Excellency President Akufo-Addo would not cause to be actioned, what appeared on the face of the records, an obvious capricious abuse of presidential powers.

According to them, there was no sentence in the letter signed by the Secretary to the President that indicated that Alfred Commietey Ogbarmey and the other Staff should be laid off at Ghana Gas!!

GABBY, the question that arose was, upon what authority, and for what reasons were two Ghanaians laid off at Ghana Gas as a consequence of Bediatuo’s letter of 9th May, 2017?

Did some one use the name and power of President Akufo-Addo to serve his personal and parochial interests at Ghana Gas?

As for KSM, he conveniently chose the path of silence in order to “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”

I believe KSM is aware of Martin Niemöller’s doxology that the Oppressor came for the Communists, Socialists, Trade Unionists, Jews, etc., and he did not speak up. Finally, the Oppressor came for him and there was no one left to speak for him.

GABBY, do your Akyem people have a proverb that if you are feasting on a monkey’s fingers you should look at your own fingers?

GABBY, you are a Lawyer, Journalist, Defender of, and nephew of my respected Retired and Tired President Billy Akufo-Addo. Kindly answer these few questions:

(1). Did President Billy Akufo-Addo really authorise his Secretary to issue s letter appointing Ernest Owusu Bempah and Augustina Asare Osei to middle and senior management positions in Ghana Gas?

(2). Did the Secretary to the President’s letter indicate that Alfred Commietey Ogbarmey and another Staff should lose their jobs at Ghana Gas?

(3). By what authority and reasons did Alfred Commietey Ogbarmey and another Staff lose their jobs at Ghana Gas?

(4). Is it true that NANA ASANTE BEDIATUO fraudulently mispresented His Excellency the President in the letter of 9th May, 2017?

(5) Is it true that NANA ASANTE BEDIATUO conspired with others to capriciously abuse presidential powers to terminate the appointments of Alfred Commietey Ogbarmey and another staff at Ghana Gas?

(6) Is it true that the following are relatives of NANA ASANTE BEDIATUO and who are enjoying appointments and state largesse?:

(i). Femi Adetola ….CIP Terminal Lounge and Ghana Prisons Board.

(ii). Dr. Ben Asante …..Ghana Gas.

(iii). Lawyer Kofi Asante…. GIMPA Council and Ghana Bauxite Authority.

(iv). Vida Asante…. Head of Presidential Household.

(v). Kwesi Kuntu Asante …. Ghana Hostels.

(vi). Lauretta Asante….. SSNIT.

GABBY, remind Asante Bediatuo of the quasi- Christian writing on a Lagos-bound bus: IFE ONYE METALU.

It means WHAT A MAN COMMITS FOLLOWS HIM.

As Africans, we believe in and practise traditional communal concepts of abantu, one-man-no-chop, live- and- let’s live, chop- make-I-chop.

Ga-Dangmes like Ogbarmey don’t need much. Just komi fio, shito fio, lo fio. That is all. And they work hard, earnestly and honestly for their daily bread.

(7). So, why is NANA ASANTE BEDIATUO and his hungry pack of relatives chopping and yet have forcfully taken small morsels out of the mouths of Alfred Commietey Ogbarmey and another Ghanaian?

One man no chop oooo!

(8). Can you explain why President Akufo-Addo will allow Nana Asante Bediatuo and his family to work and be paid with the tax payers’ money and cause Bediatuo to conspire with others to capriciously take jobs out of the hands of Alfred Commietey Ogbarmey and another Staff at Ghana Gas?

(9) Will you ask your uncle, President Akufo-Addo, to direct the recall of Alfred Commietey Ogbarmey and the other Staff to Ghana Gas, with immediate effect?
