Speaking at a campaign rally in Adugyama, Ahafo Ano South East constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr Opoku Prempeh, famously known as Napo, declared, “If Mills had a ghost, John Mahama would be in jail by now!”
In a fiery response to former President John Dramani Mahama’s jibe, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), unleashed a scathing retort that left the audience in stitches.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Adugyama, Ahafo Ano South East constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr Opoku Prempeh, famously known as Napo, declared, “If Mills had a ghost, John Mahama would be in jail by now!”
The riposte was a direct response to former President John Mahama’s earlier statement, “If Nkrumah had a ghost, he would have knocked down Napo.” Napo’s counterpunch drew thunderous applause from the crowd, as he continued to lambast Mahama’s tenure, reminding the audience of the “abysmal performance” of his administration.
Napo’s campaign tour of the Ashanti Region has been marked by his emphasis on the NPP’s message of “Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future.”
He has been relentless in highlighting the contrasts between the NPP’s achievements and the Mahama administration’s shortcomings.
“We have a President John Mahama under whose watch Ghanaians slept in darkness for 4 years, but thinks Ghanaians have forgotten about this record,” Napo said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
He further argued that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s Presidential Candidate, is the best pair of hands to safeguard the gains made in policies like the Free Senior High School.
As Napo takes his campaign tour to all 47 constituencies of the Ashanti Region, the NPP is poised to energize its stronghold for a massive turnout on election day.
The battle of wits between Napo and Mahama is heating up, with neither side showing signs of relenting, as the stage is set for a thrilling showdown in the lead-up to the elections.
