NAPO’s Aide Defends Him Against ‘Dumsor’ Timetable Controversy
Boateng also highlighted the comparative improvement in power reliability under the current administration compared to past years, underscoring ongoing efforts to resolve the issue comprehensively.
Rodney Nkrumah Boateng, Press Secretary to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), has staunchly defended his boss amid criticism over remarks regarding the ‘Dumsor’ timetable.
NAPO, currently in contention as a potential running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, faced backlash for his response during an interview concerning the load-shedding schedule. Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View with Bernard Avle, Boateng asserted that NAPO’s competence and suitability should not be judged solely on a single media interaction.
“While acknowledging the inconvenience caused by power outages, it’s crucial to recognize that NAPO’s capabilities extend far beyond one interview,” Boateng remarked, addressing concerns over NAPO’s handling of the issue. He assured us that measures were being taken to mitigate ‘Dumsor’ and ensure a stable electricity supply.
Boateng also highlighted the comparative improvement in power reliability under the current administration compared to past years, underscoring ongoing efforts to resolve the issue comprehensively.
“Attempting to define NAPO based on a single statement is unjust,” Boateng emphasized. “We are focused on the path forward and addressing challenges proactively.”
The remarks come amidst ongoing scrutiny and public discourse surrounding Ghana’s energy policies and the upcoming general elections.
