Sammi Awuku is expected to resign from his current position as the National Organizer of the NPP.

Before his appointment was confirmed, there had been reports of his appointment being rejected by the Assemblies of God Church.

According to news that went round, the Church which is against the business of lotto was not in support of their member heading the institution.

In a statement the a youth group called ‘Concerned Youth of Assemblies of God’ asked the President to rescind his decision to appoint Sammi if he has the interest of their member at heart.

“Our Church, since its inception, frowns on lotto/gambling as it is one of the earthly things that destroyed the moral fiber of every society especially the youth. As such, we wont sit aloof and allow our brother Sammi Awuku to accept this particular appointment as a member of Assemblies of God Church.

We would like to inform the President that if indeed he has our brother at heart and would like to reward him for his dedication, hard work and commitment towards the NPP, then he should find a decent appointment that will be acceptable to our church members across the country”, the statement said in parts.
