NDC, Are We Going to Inspire Hope or Dampen The Little That is Left in Ghanaians?
Ghanaians are expecting a violence free Congress which will elect selfless leaders who can steer the affairs of the great NDC party into victory so they can be rescued from the mess that seems not to have an end in sight.
The tradition which birthed this great party NDC, was borne when Ghana’s economy was extremely bad, corruption was at its apogee, self interest was the order of the day, Kalabule, as they called it, consumed the moral fibre of the nation.
However, the coming into being of the AFRC, PNDC and the NDC have dealt with those destructive tendencies mentioned above to a large extent albeit, contentiously. The NDC is noted for its developmental prowess, unlike others whose preoccupation is to amass wealth for themselves while the citizenry wallow in abject poverty.
The state of Ghana’s economy as at today is known to every Ghanaian, the “skin cuts” because there are obviously no hair to cut is being felt by many.
Ghanaians, undoubtedly, are looking up to the NDC for a rescue from this incompetent, clueless and visionless government of Nana Addo and Alhaji Mammoud Bawumia.
Unfortunately, happenings at the just ended Youth and Women conference and its attendant fallouts so far are causing several Ghanaians and some members of the NDC to ask, if the hope Ghanaians are banging on the NDC for a rescue will materialize or it will further be dampened?
Fellow delegates, what we must all know is that we are representing our various party members who couldn’t go out there to vote because of the delegate system. What they want, is for us to conduct ourselves well so as to give that hope they have been dreaming of from the great NDC. What they want is to know if the great NDC is still on its feet to bring relief to them come 2014. What they want, is not to think of our stomachs and elect leaders who will derail our forward match to victory.
Ghanaians are expecting a violence free Congress which will elect selfless leaders who can steer the affairs of the great NDC party into victory so they can be rescued from the mess that seems not to have an end in sight.
Therefore, money shouldn’t be the deciding factor. Rather, competence should be, friendship should be the yardstick commitment and dedication to duty should be, selfishness shouldn’t be the measure, selfless, love for country and party Ideal should be.
If we consider these things and many more, we will be giving that hope that Ghanaians are expecting from us.
Remember if the cocrodile asks you to scratch its back, you will have to develop very strong nails. The task ahead to bring some relief to Ghanaians is not a small one considering the kind of human beings we are expected to rescue this nation from.
The NDC can’t afford to disappoint their teeming supporters and for that matter Ghanaians on the 17th of December 2022.
To that end, whichever thing you are doing, think about the workers pension which is about to be drained, think about the hardship our people are facing, think about the escalating prices of items, think about the skyrocketing transport fares, think about the businesses that are being collapsed, think about the cost of borrowing and many more.
The time to give hope is now through our actions and inactions. Before you allow yourself to be used, think about the future of the NDC and the ordinary Ghanaians.
We are noted for rising above tough situations and so must it be come 17th December, 2022 and beyond.
God smiles on North Tongu Constituency, The great NDC and Ghana as a whole.
