A delegation of high level National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials led by the party’s General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, who is one of the vice chairmen of the Socialist International (SI) is in Geneva, Switzerland for the biannual council meeting.
In the delegation are the Director of administration at the NDC head office, Emmanuel Samba Kobina Zumakpeh, a Deputy National Youth Organizer, James Kofi Fonu Kpatakpa, and the Deputy Director of Internationale Relations of the NDC, Dr Karl Mark Arhin .
The meeting will be discussing the vast range of contemporary global issues on migration, peace and conflict resolution, refugees delimas and social democracy, among others.
The council meeting was officially opened by the president of the SI, George Papandreou, who is also a former President of Greece.
The guest speaker for the conference is the United Nations Under-Secretary-General, Genev Micheal Miller, who is also the Director General of the United Nations office.
This important international conference is expected to last for three days. About 94 political parties are participating from over seventy countries.
