Defeated NDC youth organizer candidate Yaw Brogya Genfi will seek legal action to challenge the outcome of the polls, his close friend Sammy Gyamfi has confirmed.

“After the contest, Brogya Genfi said he will not accept the results and I respect that…Challenging election outcomes is part of our democracy”, Gyamfi who is the party’s National Communications Officer told Onua TV’s Captain Smart on Wednesday (December 14).

“Let’s just allow the processes to work as a party and stay focused”, he said.

Unprovoked attacks

Sammy Gyamfi openly campaigned for Brogya Genfi in a fierce contest between his main opponent and incumbent George Opare Addo. Opare Addo affectionately called Pablo obtained 533 votes, while Brogya garnered a total of 508 votes of the valid votes cast; a difference of 25 votes.

Opare Addo has however expressed reservations about the conduct of some top officers of the party including the party’s spokesperson Sammy Gyamfi who he accused of scheming to unseat him.

“Yes, Sammy Gyamfi has now become an obstacle in my way and this is my second term I will not joke! I will cut away anybody who stands in my way as an obstacle. It is the only action that we will see. Action action action….” Mynewsgh.com quoted Opare Addo who was speaking on Accra-based Power FM as saying.

“Ask Sammy Gyamfi how he built a house at Airport Hills, what work does he do?” He further asked.

Unfounded

Reacting to the development Sammy Gyamfi described those claims as false and unfounded.

He said I have six V8s, that is not true. I only have one and even it was gifted to me by a close associate of former President Mahama… And I don’t own a mansion at Airport Hills… These are all attempts to run me down. But I am focused”, he said. The social media post that suggest my disappointment in George Opare Addo’s victory is not my account. I haven’t made such comments”.
