Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also criticized the government for abandoning key infrastructure projects in the Sissala area, including roads initiated under former President John Mahama. She assured the people that an NDC government would resume these projects and complete them to benefit the community.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Vice Presidential candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has strongly condemned the government for allegedly supplying expired rice to senior high schools as part of its feeding program.

The controversy came to light when North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, revealed that the government had allegedly rebagged expired rice and extended its expiry dates before distributing it to schools.

“How can the government knowingly supply expired rice to feed our students, knowing full well it is unfit for consumption?” she questioned. “This is unacceptable. Our children deserve better.”

She highlighted the declining state of Ghana’s education sector under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, pledging that an NDC government would prioritize restoring quality and dignity to the sector.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also criticized the government for abandoning key infrastructure projects in the Sissala area, including roads initiated under former President John Mahama. She assured the people that an NDC government would resume these projects and complete them to benefit the community.

“This is a government that has failed to prioritize the needs of Ghanaians,” she said. “It is time for change. Vote for the NDC and John Mahama so we can bring back development and ensure our children are treated with dignity.”

Her comments come as the NDC intensifies its campaign ahead of the December elections, promising to address what it describes as the failures of the current administration.
