NDC shall continue on the legacies of Rawlings – Minority leader
Minority leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC), under the leadership of former president John Dramani Mahama and his abled running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, would continue to yield to the legacies of the party’s founder, Jerry John Rawlings if they are voted into power.
According to the minority leader, the legacies of Rawlings can never be looked down upon both on the national and party level.
He said the current NDC generation is just part of Rawlings’s democratic Ghana, and that but for his ability to navigate the difficult waters of militarism to multi-party constitutional democracy there would have been a different story for Ghana.
Speaking at a night vigil organized by the NDC, in honour of Rawlings, the Tamale South Member of Parliament emphasized that the visionary leadership of Rawlings is what has manifested into the kind of Ghana we have today – a peaceful and stable democratic state.
Haruna Iddrisu further explained that, former president Rawlings was someone that was committed to the principles of probity, justice and accountability and that is what the NDC government is going to continue if power is handed over to them in the upcoming December elections.
He encouraged all people in the Korley-klotey constituency to vote for Rawlings’ daughter, Zanetor Rawlings as a the Member of Parliament for the area to enable her continue with the legacies of Rawlings.
