The Deputy Director of Elections of the NDC, Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer has revealed that the NDC will file a new writ to re-claim the Nswawam Adoagyiri, Ahafo-Ano North and other disputed Seats following a Supreme Court ruling that quashed a high court order for the Electoral Commission to collate four parliamentary results without a hearing from the NDC

Speaking on TV3’s News Night on Friday, monitored by Newsflashafrica.com, the erudite IT Expert explained that the party did not include the two seats in the earlier processes filed at the Supreme Court because the two did not fall within the basis for their court action which was the re-collation.

He said the legal team of the NDC was smart not to have included the two constituencies due to the aforementioned reasons adding that “for those two constituencies, there was no recollation as was the case of the four(4) seats declared for the NPP by the EC”.

“We have taken four today. And then we are going to take the other three too, because we’ll follow them till casket. We are not going to leave it,” Dr. Tanko said.

“We told our people to stay calm and trust the legal process. Justice is on our side. We will not leave this fight until every last seat is restored,” he added.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision quashed an earlier High Court order that directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to collate and declare results for four constituencies: Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Techiman South, and Ablekuma North.

The apex court found that the High Court did not to hear the NDC parliamentary candidates in the affected constituencies before issuing its directive, thereby violating principles of natural justice.
The Supreme Court indicated that the results for the four constituencies had already been collated and declared by the EC, rendering the High Court’s order unnecessary and procedurally flawed.

Tanko-Computer hailed the ruling as a correction of what he called a “travesty of justice” by the High Court, which he argued had set a dangerous precedent.
“This lawless EC must be purged. They defied Supreme Court orders and attempted to impose illegality. Today, democracy has won, and they have egg on their faces,” he stated
