NDC’ll abolish scholarships for the politically-exposed and their relatives – Abas Apaak

MP for Builsa South Clement Abas Apaak has reiterated the National Democratic Congress’s resolve to “passing a law to regulate scholarships”.

A Deputy Ranking Member on the Education Committee of Parliament, he bemoaned “the situation where the sons and daughters of party chairmen, the nieces of flagbearers are going on government scholarships, to the detriment of the poor and vulnerable”.

Apaak emphasised, such is “going to be a thing of the past”.

“We’ll enact a law to consolidate and regulate the scholarship regime,” he said. “Politically exposed persons and their relatives will not be beneficiaries of scholarships under John Dramani Mahama and the NDC”.
