The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended its Chairman for the Okaikoi Central Constituency (OKC), Ibrahim Musa also known as Chairman AVAR for the next six months.
He has been directed by the party to hand over all party properties in his care to the Vice Chairman of the Constituency.
The Okaikoi Chairman, according to the statement signed by Secretary to the Disciplinary Committee (DC), Anatu Anne Seidu Bogobiri Esq. was suspended for breaching Article 47 (1) (c), (d) and Article 45(i) of the NDC Constitution.
“You are to hand over any party property in your possession to your immediate Vice Chairman especially the Mahindra car by 31st July, 2020 at the Constituency Party office at 5pm (even if the car will be towed, and the cost will be borne by the Constituency Office after delivery,” the statement copied to the Regional Chairman, Council of Members and the Executive Committee Members of the Constituency said noted.
The suspension follows a petition brought before the Disciplinary Committee of the party by Yussif Ibrahim, Youth Organiser of the World Wide Branch, Olengele Kono Ward in which Musa is said to have reported the Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Abdul Rashid Issah to the Police leading to his invitation over frivolous allegations.
The Disciplinary Committee of the OKC, faulted Chairman AVAR for not following due process in furnishing the Police with relevant details to enable them conduct investigations into the matter.
The DC directed the suspended OKC Chairman to reduce the portion of the matter that concerns the parliamentary candidate from the police to allow the party use its structures to resolve the matter.
The party further directed the suspended Chairman to conduct himself in a manner that the constitution of the NDC enjoins its members.
