NDC’s Jane Naana enstooled as Naa Amarkie Kekleke Yoo I by Sakumono Chiefs

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearer’s running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has been installed as a Development Queen Mother of Sakumono.

The event took place on Tuesday, August 20 during the running mate’s campaign tour of the area.

The people and chiefs of Sakumono warmly received her to the community and decided to honour her. She now bears the title “Naa Amarkie Kekleke Yoo I”.

The chiefs and leaders of the Sakumono said Professor Opoku-Agyeman is a development-oriented leader and a mother figure to the community hence the decision to honour her.

The ceremony was witnessed by the traditional leaders, the NDC campaign team and supporters as well as community members.

In her acceptance speech, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude to the chiefs and the people of Sakumono for the gesture.

“This recognition is not just a personal accolade; it is a call to action,” she said.

She promised to work hard and initiate developments that would spur economic growth in Sakumono and Ghana as a whole.

The NDC’s vice presidential candidate appealed to the chiefs and people of Sakumono to vote massively for their presidential candidate, John Mahama and the party’s parliamentary candidate.

She said the former President is a trustworthy leader who has more experience and could help navigate the country out of its current economic challenges.
