NDC’s national communications officer, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, has been picked up by heavily armed police officers.
It is not clear what warranted his arrest by the ununiformed men who invaded the Abeka junction-based media house in rambo style.
He had gone to UTV as a panel member on their Adekye Nsoroma programme with Tema West MP who also doubles as Deputy Trades and Industry Minister, Carlos Ahenkora.
NDC deputy communication director, Godwin Ako Gunn says the party does not know where its spokesperson is being taken to.
“We don’t know who ordered for him to be picked up and we are yet to know the issue that called for his arrest,” Mr Gunn told Myxyzonline.com.
He added that the incident happened after the programme when Sammy was heading to his car.
“He [Sammy] even asked the men to follow him in his car but they refused. Some staff of UTV even wanted to know where they were taken him to but they wouldn’t tell them,” Gunn added.
