Their collective input is expected to produce relevant information to guide Ghana’s future development strategies.

As part of this effort, the NDPC held a press briefing on January 31, 2025, to provide updates on the implementation of the MTNDPF. The framework outlines Ghana’s strategic priorities for economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability. Officials of the Commission took the opportunity to highlight progress made so far, challenges encountered, and some strategies to achieve the remaining objectives before the framework’s completion in 2025.

A key focus of the discussion was the upcoming evaluation, which will assess the effectiveness of the current policy framework in achieving national development goals. The findings will play a crucial role in shaping the next medium-term framework and ensure that Ghana’s long-term development trajectory remains on course.

The NDPC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and stakeholder inclusion in the evaluation process. With a pledge to share updates and findings with all relevant parties, the commission aims to foster a more participatory approach to national development planning.

Mr. Twene-Boakodua expressed deep appreciation to UNICEF, for its unwavering support and collaboration. He acknowledged that UNICEF’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping the development and implementation of the current policy framework.

He emphasized that this evaluation is not merely a routine exercise but a critical reflection on Ghana’s progress, opportunities, and challenges. It provides an opportunity to assess what has been achieved, identify areas for improvement, and determine how best to align efforts with the objectives of the policy framework to achieve the desired outcomes.

The insights gained from this evaluation will be crucial in refining strategies, reallocating resources where necessary, and ensuring that policies remain responsive to the needs of the people. As the evaluation process unfolds, he encouraged all stakeholders to engage actively and constructively to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development agenda.
