New Techimanhene to celebrate Yam Festival on 1st September

The New Techimanhene and Asaamahene of the Techiman Traditional Council, Nana Nkanasa Gyima II and the entire New Texas Traditional Area, will on Sunday, 1st September, 2024 celebrate this year’s yam festival.

The yam festival is an important cultural event in Techiman, and all Bono communities and its celebration is a significant occasion for the communities.

The festival serves as a reminder of the region’s rich history and heritage, and it brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate their shared traditions and officially paved way for indigents of the community to eat yam.

The Techiman Traditional Council has been working tirelessly to ensure that this year’s festival is a success and as such, each chief under the council has a designated date to celebrate the festival.

Nana Nkanasa Gyima II, assured the people of New Techiman that this year’s yam festival will be celebrated in a grand style.

“There will be a lot of activities during the celebration, which includes sporting activities, drama, poetry recital, and many others, we will celebrate this year’s yam festival in a grand style.” Nana said

The New Techimanhene, Nana Nkanasa Gyima II and the entire New Techiman royal family, encourages everyone to join in the festivities and celebrate the yam festival together.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate their culture and traditions.
