NPP will have a difficult time marketing other candidates besides Bawumia in 2024
''Such a golden boy is hard to find and having him as the 2024 candidate of NPP will make the already arduous task of breaking eight a reality''.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will have a difficult task marketing any other candidate for Ghana’s 2024 election apart from the Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The name Bawumia has become a household item and NPP stands a chance of making 2024 less difficult if the party chooses the respected economist as its candidate.
Ever since he joined the NPP about two decades ago, he has done well to keep his momentum, something a handful of politicians across the globe do. Bawumia is like the proverbial old wine, as his years in politics increase, the more his popularity soars. A rare feature of politicians.
In the NPP, he cemented his name in the golden books through his loyalty, dedication, hard work and readiness to work with all sides regardless of your perceived camp. Such a person makes going into the 2024 election with less internal tensions and disunity.
On the national front, his competence, Ghana first, being the best Vice President in our history, religious tolerance, peacemaker, humility and initiator of the plethora of pro-poor socio-economic policies and digitalization drive have placed his name on the lips of most Ghanaians. His arch-rivals can’t even deny this truism.
Bawumia is loved by almost all the cleavages that determine elections in Ghana.
Such a golden boy is hard to find and having him as the 2024 candidate of NPP will make the already arduous task of breaking eight a reality.
I have no shred of scepticism that NPP delegates will ultimately endorse him as the party’s flagbearer in 2023.
