NIA Registration Exercise takes a temporary break in Ashanti Region

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that the ongoing mass registration in Ashanti Region will be temporarily placed on hold from Tuesday, 24th December to Sunday, 29th December.

The temporal break is to enable the NIA address a number of operational issues affecting the printing and issuance of cards in the Region.

A press statement signed by the Head of Corporate Affairs of the Authority, ACI Francis Palmdeti, explained that, the move is also to “enable the registration officials, who have been in eleven (11) Regions of the country undertaking the mass registration exercise since April 2019, join their families for the Christmas holidays and festivities”

The NIA asserted that, the mass registration will resume on Monday, 30th December 2019 till Friday, 10th January, 2020. This will however exclude 1st and 7th January which are statutory public holidays.
