Nigerian video director chases Shatta Wale over non-payment of 13 music projects

Nigerian video director Michael popularly known as Choppenson has expressed his dissatisfaction over how Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr widely known as Shatta Wale is treating him.

The video director has accused Shatta Wale of failure to pay him his money after shooting more than 13 videos including “taking over, and his latest video Killa Ji Mi”.

In a video sighted by Elvisanokyenews.com, Michael claimed that he has been begging Shatta Wale and his Manger Sammy Flex for the money but they are not willing to pay him.

“Hello guys my name is Michael popularly known as Choppenson, I am from Nigeria, I am a video Director. I want you guys to ask Shatta Wale why he has refused to pay me my money. I have done a couple of videos for Shatta Wale if I am not mistaken, I have done over thirteen (13) videos for Shatta Wale. Even his hit tracks from ‘taking over to Ayo’, even the video Beyonce saw and featured him, I shot that video.” He said.

Choppenson added that “Recently, his manager Sammy Flex called me that Shatta Wale wants me to follow them to Tamale so that we could do some video for three days. I said, “It’s fine I will go, he gave me some money even at the Airport I called him that bro, this money can not get me equipment for a day, he says no let go we will settle it later is just three days.”

He continued “We went there and after three days, he told me that Shatta Wale wants us to stay for extra days so that we can do more videos. Even when I had a meeting with Shatta Wale at Tamale, I told him bro, money for equipment for these extra days ooo, he told me don’t worry my manager will sort you out.”

According to the Nigerian video director “It’s been over a month now and I have been begging for this money and they have been turning me like this and that. Within that period, Shatta Wale also called to do a video for him, ‘Killa Ji Mi’, one of his tracks, I said fine, I will do it, I finished the video, I gave it to him, they have spreaded the video and now it is everywhere. Bro pay me my money because all these while I am speaking with his manager but he has been doing this and that so I called Shatta Wale and asked him. The equipment money I told you about has not been paid, I just finished a new video for you. I have not paid my balance.”

“Shatta Wale said his manager is always like that when it comes to payment so he himself (Shatta Wale) will give me $15 thousand dollars to offset all my bills, till date I have been begging for money.” He claimed.
